December 2023

• Completion of extensive civil works to be able to place 50 000 tons of product on both sides of the rail for loading.

• The siding has been upgraded to a A-class siding together with Rail Safety Regulator.

• Completed a paved area for chrome.

December 2022

• In the last four months we have loaded 50 sets of trains, each with 104 jumbo wagons. That translates to roughly 436,800 tons of coal!

• Our capacity has increased. We can now place 208 84-ton wagons on the siding.

• We have increased the stockpile areas adjacent to both rails. We can now stockpile roughly 240,000 tons directly next to the rails.

• With the latest upgrades to our FEL's our loading times have decreased to 4 hours per 104 jumbo wagon set.

• New offices on site and newly renovated ablution block.

• Installed in-weigh weighbridge of 80 tons and out-weigh weighbridge of 60 tons with security offices, complete with CCTV cameras.

March 2022

Our rail lines and loading capacity have been upgraded to support Jumbo wagons!

But what does that actually mean? Well, a typical load of 50 "normal" wagons totals to 2,850 tons. Sikame Siding has the capacity to load 100 wagons, thus 5,700 tons. With our new upgraded capacity we can load 100 Jumbo wagons, totalling 8,400 tons, in under 6 hours.
